Domestic RO systems

Reliable drinking water, treated at home

A multi-stage under-sink system feeding a dedicated drinking tap. Sized to what your supply actually carries, fitted and serviced by the people who built it.

HomesOfficesShopsSmall clinics

An under-sink domestic reverse osmosis system in an open kitchen cabinet: stacked filter housings, membrane, booster pump and a white pressure storage tank.

Treatment stages

What the water passes through

Nine stages between the tap and the glass. Not every system carries all nine — the ones your supply needs are fitted, and the rest are not sold to you.

  1. Stage 01

    Raw water inlet

Tap or bore water enters the unit.

  2. Stage 02

    Sediment filter

Sand, dirt, rust and visible particles.

  3. Stage 03

    Carbon filter

    Chlorine, odour and organic chemicals.

  4. Stage 04

    Micron filter

Fine particles down to one micron.

  5. Stage 05

    Booster pump

    Raises pressure to 60–120 psi.

  6. Stage 06

    RO membrane

    Removes 90–99% of dissolved solids.

  7. Stage 07

    Post carbon filter

Polishes taste on the way out.

  8. Stage 08

    UV / UF disinfection

Fitted where the supply warrants it

Bacteria and viruses, where the supply warrants it.

  9. Stage 09

    Storage & outlet

Pressure tank feeding a dedicated tap.

Products & components

Cartridges, membranes and parts

The consumables and components a domestic system runs on, with current website prices. Ask for anything not listed.

Cartridges

  • Carbon Block Filter Cartridge

A CTO carbon block. Adsorbs chlorine and organics ahead of the membrane, which is what protects the membrane from them.

    Rs. 750

  • 10-inch Sediment Cartridge

The first mechanical stage. Traps sand, silt and rust before anything finer has to deal with them.

    Rs. 550

  • GAC Carbon Cartridge

Granular activated carbon, working on chlorine and organics in the pre-filtration stack.

    Rs. 750

  • Three Pre-Filter Set

Sediment, GAC and carbon block together — the routine replacement set for a domestic system.

    Rs. 1,950

  • Post Carbon Cartridge

The polishing stage after the membrane, fitted where taste and odour are a consideration.

    Rs. 1,100

  • Mineral Cartridge

Reintroduces selected minerals after the membrane, where that is part of the specification.

    Rs. 1,100

Membranes & filtration

  • UF Membrane

Ultrafiltration, used where the specification calls for it. It works on a different principle from reverse osmosis and is not a substitute for it.

    Price on request

  • 100 GPD RO Membrane

The separation stage itself. Price varies materially by brand and grade, so it is quoted from.

    From Rs. 3,750

Components

  • UV Lamp & Quartz Sleeve

Consumable parts of a UV stage, where one is fitted. The lamp and its sleeve are replaced periodically as part of servicing.

    Rs. 2,200

  • Domestic RO Booster Pump

Supplies the pressure that drives water across the membrane. Without it the membrane does very little.

    Rs. 6,500

  • 4-Gallon RO Storage Tank

Holds treated water so supply meets demand at the moment of use rather than the moment of production.

    Rs. 6,500

  • Standard 10-inch Filter Housing

The housing a 10-inch cartridge sits in.

    Rs. 2,000

  • Domestic 10-inch UV Sterilizer

A UV stage for domestic systems, fitted where disinfection is specified for the application.

    Rs. 7,900

Stage 06

The RO membrane does the heavy work

Everything before it exists to protect it, and everything after it polishes what it produces. This is the stage that changes what your TDS meter reads.

Feed water

Enters the housing under pressure from the booster pump.

Semi-permeable layer

Water molecules pass. Dissolved solids do not.

Product water

Spirals inward to the centre tube and leaves as treated water.

Concentrate

Carries the rejected solids away to drain.

A working membrane removes 90 to 99 percent of dissolved solids. It also produces a reject stream — an RO system uses more water than it makes, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something else.

Maintenance

What keeps it working

The cheap parts protect the expensive one. Neglecting the cartridges is what kills a membrane early.

Ask about a service visit
Pre-filters
Sediment, carbon and micron cartridges. The cheap parts that keep the membrane alive.
RO membrane
The stage that changes your TDS reading. Lasts longest when the pre-filters are kept up.
Booster pump
Checked on service visits. Without pressure the membrane produces very little.
Storage tank
Pressure checked and the tank sanitised as part of a service.

Service intervals depend on what your supply carries — a heavy sediment bore goes through pre-filters far faster than a clean mains connection. We set a schedule against your own water rather than printing one on a page.

Not sure which one

Not sure which RO system you need?

Tell us how many people are drinking it and what your supply reads. If you do not know the TDS, we will test it. Or call 0300-4334482.
